About Kailee's Fight Club

 Kailee Rae (Gavin) Thomae was a vibrant daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend who touched everyone she met with her warmth and laughter. In September 2018, she married Derek Thomae, and together they began their journey to make the world a better place. Kailee’s lifelong dream of becoming a mother came true when Kailee and Derek welcomed their son, Beckham, in October 2021. Beckham was nine weeks premature and Kailee spent months by his side in the neonatal unit, nurturing him through a challenging start to life. necessities such as food, shelter, and healthcare.

 In 2023, Kailee was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. Despite several optimistic treatments and valiant efforts to fight this terrible disease, the cancer unfortunately spread to her brain, abdomen, liver, and beyond. Kailee was a fighter to her core, determined not to let cancer stop her from continuing to spread joy and goodness to those that loved her. However, God called Kailee home on September 9, 2024, at the age of 36. Throughout her battle, Kailee remained strong, never complaining, and focused on helping others. She wanted to raise awareness and funds for cancer research, and to help other young families affected by the disease.
